A retail business looking to build out their food & beverage presence by opening several restaurant locations was in need of more robust HR support to manage the transition. Operating across three different states, they required updates to their HRIS system in addition to general HR support and leadership as they expanded. Project and change management leaders were called upon to manage the HRIS implementation and to help ensure proper compliance with their NYC restaurant.
First and foremost, our team helped set realistic expectations with the client about the time commitment and transparent communication needed for a successful HRIS transition, building out a robust project plan that included target dates and end state goals. In addition to the implementation, an overhaul of business and employee insurances was needed to accommodate their changing business model. By partnering with Empowered, this client was able to not only ensure a smooth tactical transition for their HRIS and HR processes, but also ensure other related concerns around compliance and insurance were addressed properly.
The complete overhaul of the HRIS system included transitioning two legacy companies to the new platform as well as setting up three brand new companies. The client’s benefits brokers and plans were reviewed and updated, their time and attendance system was upgraded to a new vendor, the payroll setup was adjusted to be fully compliant with all local regulations, and updated documents were collected for all employees. Empowered continues to provide the client with ongoing support as needed to all of their locations.
