Our Challenge

A Michelin-starred natural wine bar was looking for HR compliance assistance, as well as a review of their core HR documents. The owners had created a positive, open culture but were concerned about the possible legal implications of missing paperwork and other HR compliance details. They were also interested in training their small management team on employee relations as well as other leadership skills, creating solid job descriptions, and receiving support with performance management.

Our Solution

After conducting an HR discovery and uncovering various areas of non-compliance, E|H methodically worked through correcting or implementing missing documents, delivering the required New York City sexual harassment prevention training, and several additional leadership training. We also reviewed the company’s utilization of its payroll platform to find possible areas of savings.

The Results

E|H was able to obtain a 10% discount on the company’s monthly payroll fees, successfully train the GM on day-to-day HR responsibilities, and provide regular compliance audits and on-call support for under $5,000 per year on an ongoing basis. We also seamlessly supported the opening of the company’s second location.
