A Miami-based restaurant group with over a decade in operation was exiting their current HR Director for financial reasons. They were looking for a flexible HR model to support their in-house HR Coordinator while guiding the owners through complex day-to-day HR situations. The company had historically experienced high management turnover, which impacted revenue, the quality of the guest experience and employee morale. Several prior employees had attempted to sue the company, and documentation to support the company’s case had been found lacking.
E|H began by reviewing the current HR function and found significant compliance exposure that the prior HR Director had overlooked. While partnering with the HR Coordinator to rectify the identified compliance issues, our team supported leadership by hiring a solid management group for their busiest location while implementing consistent practices for coaching and counseling employees.
E|H helped decrease company-wide turnover by establishing a more stringent interview process and screening candidates. E|H also supported several sensitive terminations and helped the company avoid potentially costly employee relations issues by reviewing and approving all write-ups and terminations. When the pandemic hit, we transitioned to on-call, hourly support to fit the client’s reduced budget.
