Our Challenge

A unique business blending the restaurant industry and the textile design world had a small team with no dedicated HR support. The owner was concerned about employee relations, having previously experienced the tense exit of a senior employee. With only ten employees, hiring a full-time HR resource was not a viable option, but the complexity of the business demanded a high degree of expertise and adaptability. The owner was spending thousands on legal fees, and needed a more affordable alternative.

Our Solution

E|H built out the company’s HR foundation by creating all-new company material such as onboarding packets, employee guidelines, corrective action forms, offer letters, employment agreements and more. We then investigated leading compensation practices for sales personnel, created all new job descriptions across the board, and implemented a new compensation structure for the in-house cafe concept. E|H also provided versatile on-call HR support that was easily tailored to the company’s changing needs.

The Results

On top of the robust HR framework, E|H has worked with the company to implement a new 401K plan, update their compensation package, and launch a 360-degree peer review process. Although they are a small company, we invest care and attention in the owner’s objectives and have become a trusted part of their team.
