Our Challenge

As a long-time family-owned and operated business, the winery had never had a dedicated HR resource but had been advised by their operations consultant to seek out compliance support. As they continued to grow their operation and increased table service during the summer season, they needed guidance on tip pooling, compensation structures and HR policies.

Our Solution

To provide support for time-sensitive issues, E|H began the partnership on an hourly basis, tackling items that needed immediate attention. From there, we initiated the Discovery process to diagnose any compliance issues and help implement standard procedures across the board. As business ramped up for the summer season, the winery enlisted our support to recruit salaried and hourly employees.

The Results

E|H helped the owners resolve sensitive employee relations issues, including terminating their newly-hired GM. While at the same time, developing a compliant, competitive compensation structure and clear job descriptions for all roles within the company. Our guidance has allowed the owners to move forward confidently, while focusing on running the vineyard and winery through their busiest seasons.
