Joe brings over 20 years of experience in strategic client leadership and business consulting to Empowered Hospitality. His career began at Randstad, where he managed key accounts, and evolved through impactful roles at Alvarez & Marsal, Acquis Consulting Group and EY-Parthenon, where he led complex, global engagements for Fortune 100 clients. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for thoughtful leadership, collaborative problem-solving, and a strong focus on results.
Since Empowered’s inception, Joe has been instrumental in shaping the firm’s strategic direction and values, and takes pride in cultivating an environment where excellence and integrity are the standard. With a sharp eye for talent and a belief that great people drive great outcomes, Joe has supported Sarah in building a team that reflects the values and ambition at the heart of Empowered.
A seasoned traveler, Joe has a deep and personal appreciation for hospitality through shared experiences with clients and colleagues all over the world. At home in New York City, he enjoys exploring local restaurants and particularly values time visiting Empowered’s clients with the team.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University and an MBA in Strategy from the University of Notre Dame. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) and a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM®).
What is your ideal restaurant experience?
The Danish term, hygge, describes my ideal experience - warm, cozy, and inviting. There's nothing I love more in a restaurant. A comfortable, quiet place - with soft lighting, warm colors, and well-designed acoustics - has a tremendous impact on an evening. The ambiance sets the stage for delicious drinks, tasty food, and meaningful connections.
