Devon Stein

Devon brings over 10 years of experience to Empowered Hospitality, with a strong foundation in the nonprofit sector. She has supported and led projects for organizations ranging from small, community-based nonprofits to New York City’s nonprofit association, providing professional training and operational support that helped teams work more efficiently and effectively. Her passion for hospitality emerged after relocating to the Hudson Valley years ago, where she began as an HR consultant and barista at a local coffee shop before advancing into management at a boutique hotel. Devon holds an MBA from Baruch College and holds both SHRM-CP and PHR certifications.

What is your ideal restaurant experience?

From the ambiance to the food, pre-dinner drinks to dessert, the experience is harmonious, joyful, and delicious! Whether I take loved ones or go by myself, the highest compliment is not being able to stop talking about it after leaving and needing to recommend it to others.

What does “creating workplaces where people thrive” mean to you?

A thriving workplace is one where HR is covered so the rest of the team can focus on their day-to-day roles. The greater the support system—from individual staff to leadership—the less energy is spent carving out time from their own work to attempt to support themselves.
